This series contains Britton’s writings and speeches, and also contains materials that he edited. It consists of three subseries: Typescripts/Manuscripts, Publications, and Referencing/Referring to Britton. This series consists of seven boxes and dates from 1946 to 1991. The series is kept in the order that Britton originally arranged it.
Series IV is a collection of six unpublished research papers written by MVH during her professional career and involvement with MENC. Their topics cover a range of subject matter regarding music education and span the dates 1936 through 1976.

This series contains typescripts and some manuscripts of Donald Pond's writings. Some of the essays and reviews were published, but contained here are the actual or photocopied typescripts by Pond himself. There are also some of his notes and ideas written in them as he was working on the writings. Also included are newspaper articles, notes and scripts of and about the Radio Talks that Pond did on various musical topics.
Series 1 contains various articles from the Discussion Club at Indiana University, published and non-published writings by or about Birge, published articles on the National Music Supervisors Conferences in Chicago, collected writings on Will Earhart, and collected non-music journals.
This series contains magazines, articles and an essay, spanning from 1919 to 1986, arranged by type of material. They include The Albion High School Breeze, which Dr. Slocum served as advertising manager, concert programs, and a copied essay used by Dr. Slocum.
This subseries contains written announcements, memos, and articles about peformances by the Maryland Dance Theater.
Series II contains books, articles, and addresses written by Lowell Mason. The series is divided into two subseries.
